It seems my life at times revolves around books! Life of a writer...life of a homeschool mom...life of a reader...life of a mom...period.
We love to read aloud to the girls. My schedule has not been easy these past six months so our reading time diminished some. I hate that! But we are getting back into it now that the summer months are upon us and full-time homeschooling is over. We are continuing some reading review (a few times a week) to give my new 6 year old greater confidence in reading...but other than that, we are DONE.
Over the past few months we've read Mr. Poppers Penguins and the Milly Molly Mandy Storybook. The girls loved both of them.
Mr. Poppers Penguins is a delightful story. My 2 year old loved it as much as my 6 year old (then 5). Are you looking for something to keep your little ones busy over the summer? Check out this book and these free activities or this very inexpensive activity set.
The Milly Molly Mandy Storybook was probably our favorite read aloud in a while. Again both of my girls LOVED it. My 2 year old would cry if she caught sight of the book and I didn't read a story from it. It is filled with about 20 or so short stories about a little girl and her adventures in her small village. It's vintage and precious and full of laughs. You can find the book here and activities here.
In my writing life and adult life I just came across a collection of e-books all for moms ranging from learning to relax, mothering, being a better wife, prioritizing, homeschooling, scheduling..etc. It would take me hours to rehash all of these. I'll try to highlight some of them as I read them.
I'm also writing book 3, Promise to Keep, for The Promise of Sunrise series. My synopsis is due on June 15...I'm almost done with that and then I'll do some outlining and brainstorming with a few people and then get to writing. I have a fast turn around time...it's due November 15!
So...my summer includes reading fun books with my daughters and writing another book for YOU and hopefully spending a lot of fun relaxing and being crazy with my husband and girls.
What's on your summer agenda?
