I don't get nearly the amount of time to read like I used to...my TBR pile is HUGE in for real terms...but here are a few that I have on my Kindle or iBook App or a paper copy of that I'm itching to read! I was about half way through All for a Story by my dear friend Allison Pittman when I got interrupted due to agreeing to read several books for endorsement. But as soon as I'm done reading the current one, this is getting finished. It's an excellent book that released last fall. The writing is witty, clever, and smart. This book also just gets me super excited for her next novel All for a Sister that comes out later this year. Yes, I'm a Pittman fan!
I'm SO excited to read Healer of Carthage by Lynne Gentry. This book sparks all kinds of loves of mine. History. Time travel. Romance. What could be better!? There's also an e-short that's a prequel. I've got both and I'm EXCITED to get started.
Stephanie Landsem has two very alluring books...one, The Well came out last year and The Thief just released a few days ago. I have The Well and cannot wait to start reading. I flirted with it one day and read the first two pages and...boy...was it hard to put it away! I am going to get The Thief for sure!
Last year I BAWLED...like major ugly cry...when I read Mother of Pearl by Kellie Coates Gilbert. There was NOT one other book that evoked such emotion in me all last year than this book. My daughter found me and was very concerned at how hard I was crying! So, yes, I definitely have her next book A Woman of Fortune on my list.
I'm unashamed to say that I'm a big Downton Abbey fan. Carrie Turansky's book The Governess of Highland Hall is on my short list, too.
Another book that came out last year that I still haven't read and it's waiting in my Kindle app is Widow of Gettysburg. I've followed Jocelyn Green with her ministry to military wives so this book really excites me.
Totally digging, swooning, fainting over this cover (gorge!) and the story sounds amazing. I've never read anything by Sarah Ladd and I'm excited about The Headmistress of Rosemere. This book is also available on Audible so I will likely end up getting it that way since my reading time is SO LIMITED!
There are a few other books that I was given early release copies (perks! yay!):
Somebody Like You by Beth Vogt
This story covers the gamut of emotions. Check it out in May!
The Midwife by Jolina Peterscheim
I'm reading this right now and not just impressed with the writing but the intricate storyline. Check it out in June!
I have these books on my Audible App:
There are MANY more books that I have on my Kindle that I'd love to read, these are the one that have been winking at me currently. I also really hope to read a few classics this year. Maybe Wuthering Heights or Little Women or something. Classics always feed the soul whether you've read them once or many times.
What are you reading? I'd love to know!
