Ever had one of those summers where you just couldn't WAIT to have all the free time!? We have had a very busy late 2012 into 2013. Our first full year of homeschooling, life after deployment, & getting my agent and first contract. Add in regular family life & drama & it's BUSY BUSY BUSY. But I really love every minute of it...okay, not EVERY minute, I love my family through it but really wanted our lives to slow down. As summer approached my book 2 deadline was through...then my edit came in...WOW, lots of work to be done. My editors had great suggestions but it was going to take a lot of extra energy to make this book even better. With that done and moving head-long into writing book 3, my summer suddenly started feeling a little bit like this:
Can you relate?
BUT, truly, my girls and I are spending our days really enjoying ourselves—splashing in the little pool, a slip-n-slide that isn't so great but Curly finds fun, teaching our little Moe knock-knock jokes that she cracks herself up on, and do some fun school stuff (reading lessons & nature studies).
My husband, "The Major", has been running and running! He's an avid runner and I'm so proud of him. He is an inspiration to me...and truly the Husband & Daddy of the Year! We have gone on a few trips to see family and are hopefully planning another trip later this summer...more to come on that. Oh, did I mention we are potty training Moe?
To say the least...every day is an adventure. And even when our days are a little like the photo above...they are also like this:
Cheers to a wonderful summer, sweet readers!
